Urban Forest Project

Urban Forestation by RBM

THE CITY OF BANGALORE HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO RAPID, INTENSE URBANIZATION IN THE LAST DECADE, PUTTING THE CITY'S LIMITED RESOURCES AND INFRASTRUCTURE UNDER IMMENSE PRESSURE APTLY CALLED 'GARDEN CITY , BANGALORE WAS PROUD OF ITS THRIVING AND EXEMPLARY GREEN COVER. SADLY IN A MATTER OF JUST A FEW YEARS, IT IS FAST TURNING INTO A CEMENT CONCRETE JUNGLE. CITIZENS HAVE WATCHED HELPLESSLY AS THE LUSH ANCIENT TREES GET MERCILESSLY CHOPPED - LEAVING BEHIND A BARREN, OXYGEN STARVED LANDSCAPE! WE SAY, "NO MORE!!!" LET US TAKE CHARGE AND PLEDGE TO REVERSE THIS DEVASTATION!

Our
Pledge

The committed members of Rotary Banga ore Midtown have adopted Urban Forestation as their core community service project.
We have set ourseves the audacious goa to pant Urban Forests in the city from Ju y 2018 onwards

MIYAWAKI
METHOD

After much research our implementation experts have found that
the most suitable, quick and efficient way of creating dense, natural forests is the Miyawaki Method of afforestation,
named after the Japanese scientist Dr Akira Miyawaki.

PLAN

Partnering with Experts: Our Community Service Team works closely with highly reputed & trained experts in the Miyawaki Method, with a proven and successful track record of consulting, planning, implementing and providing end-to-end execution, maintenance and servicing the Urban Forest. Permissions: We seek the required permissions from the Municipal bodies and related statutory authorities to grant us the permission to plant and maintain these forests in the City’s Parks for a period 3 years until the Forests are self-sustaining and do not require extensive maintenance and care. Monitoring: We oversee and monitor the entire process for a period 2 to 3 years.
